Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data BuildConnect collects, why, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It describes what the platform actually does. It is published in English and Arabic, and both versions have the same meaning.

1. Who is responsible for your data

FLUX FUSION IT SOLUTIONS L.L.C. (فلكس فيوجن لحلول تقنية المعلومات ذ.م.م), licensed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) under trade license number 1520237, operates BuildConnect. It decides how the data described here is used, except where section 5 says a company with a profile decides.

BuildConnect is a private online directory run by Flux Fusion IT Solutions L.L.C. (Dubai). It is not a government body. A BuildConnect profile is optional and is not a license, registration or approval of any kind.

2. What we collect

When you visit the site. When you open a company page, we record a visit for that company: the page, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or directly), your browser's user-agent text and the time. We do not store your IP address with this record, and it is not used to identify you. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps its own technical logs, which include IP addresses, to run and protect the service, and collects anonymous, cookie-free visit statistics for us (Vercel Web Analytics).

When you use the Contact page. Your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic you chose and your message. The message is sent to our email inbox. It is not stored in the BuildConnect database.

When you send an enquiry or a quote request to a company. Your name, email, phone (optional), the service, product or budget you indicate, and your message. It is stored so the company can read and answer it in its dashboard, and a copy is emailed to the company.

When you apply for a job on a company's website. Your name, email, phone (optional), experience, languages, cover letter and the CV you upload. The CV is kept in private storage. It can be opened only by signed-in users of that company and, when needed to support the company or to meet a legal requirement, by our administrators.

When you create or run a company account. Your name, email and password (stored only in a form that cannot be read back). We also keep your company's details (name, description, services, emirates served, contact details, trade license number as you supply it), and the images and documents you upload: team members, projects, certifications, offices, products and job posts. We also keep the enquiries and applications your company receives, and a record of your acceptance of our Terms. When you sign up, we also collect a copy of the company's trade license and the full name of the person registering it. We use them only to confirm that the company is real and licensed; they are kept with the account and are never shown publicly.

When you subscribe. Your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, status and billing dates. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages. We never receive or store your full card number or security code.

For unclaimed profiles. Business information that the company has made public: company name, activities, emirates served, business switchboard number, general business email and website. See section 11.

3. Why we use data, and on what basis

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by emailing info@buildconnect.ae. This does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Who receives your data

• The company you contact receives your enquiry, quote request or job application.
• Our service providers, who process data on our instructions to provide their service to us:
  • Neon: database hosting. The database is located in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Vercel: hosting of the application and the website (United States).
  • Cloudinary: storage of uploaded images and documents.
  • Resend: sending the platform's emails.
• Stripe processes subscription payments on our behalf. Stripe also uses payment data for its own purposes, such as fraud prevention and meeting its own legal obligations, under its own privacy policy. For those purposes Stripe decides how the data is used.
• Authorities, where the law requires us to share data.

5. Enquiries and job applications: who decides

When you send an enquiry, quote request or job application to a company, that company decides how to use it: whether to reply, whether to hire, and how long to keep its own copies. It is responsible for handling your data lawfully. BuildConnect stores and delivers the data for the company and applies the retention periods in section 7 to the copies in our systems. You can contact the company or us about your data. If you contact us, we act on your request for our systems and pass it on to the company.

6. Data stored outside the UAE

Our service providers store and process data outside the UAE. Our database is in Germany, and the other providers named in section 4 may process data in the United States, the European Union or other countries. Each provider processes the data under its own published terms.

7. How long we keep data

These are our retention periods. We apply them by a documented deletion procedure that we carry out at least once a month, so data is deleted within one month after its period ends.

Deletion requests: we complete them within 30 days and confirm by email. Records that the law requires us to keep, such as invoices, are kept for the period the law requires and are used only for that purpose.

Limits of deletion: our providers keep backups and technical logs for a limited time under their own settings, and deleted data can remain there until it is overwritten. We do not restore data from backups except to recover from a system failure. Copies that a company has already received by email or downloaded from its dashboard are under that company's control, and our deletion does not reach them; we pass your request on to the company.

8. Your rights

Subject to UAE law, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct or complete it;
• delete it;
• restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use;
• give you the data you provided in a structured, commonly used format;
• withdraw any consent you gave.

Email info@buildconnect.ae. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.

9. Security

Pages are served over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only in a form that cannot be read back. Dashboards require sign-in, and each company can see only its own data. CVs are kept in private storage. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data, we will inform you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.

10. Cookies

We set a session cookie when a company user signs in. It keeps you signed in and ends when you sign out or it expires. The dashboard remembers whether its sidebar is open in a small preference cookie. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Unclaimed profiles and company pages

Some profiles are created by us from business information that a company has made public, such as its own website or an official business register. We write the description ourselves, record where the information came from and when, and show only business contact details: a switchboard number, a general business email and the website. We do not publish the names, personal phone numbers or personal email addresses of employees on these profiles, and we do not use logos, photos or text copied from other websites on them. These profiles are labelled "Unclaimed", show no enquiry form, and can be corrected, claimed or removed free of charge by emailing info@buildconnect.ae. Before we hand a profile over, we check that the person is authorised to represent the company.

12. Children

BuildConnect is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

13. Changes to this policy

We update the "Last updated" date when we change this policy. We email the account owners of companies on a paid plan or trial at least 30 days before an important change takes effect.
